UNDERSTANDING OVULATION

Ovulation is when the ovary releases a matured egg that is pushed down the fallopian tube to get fertilized, which makes it the most fertile time for women to conceive. Ovulation happens two weeks before the next expected period. For instance, if the length of your cycle is 28 days, then you are most likely to ovulate at day 14. Therefore, the most fertile time is considered to be approximately 5 to 7 days, around the ovulation date.

This egg takes around 12-24 hours to fertilize, and the sperm can stay in the body for around 3-5 days after intercourse. If you conceive this month, it would be considered as week one of your pregnancy.

Note: This ovulation date calculator provides estimated dates only, assuming a regular menstrual cycle. If you have an irregular cycle, it will be difficult to calculate your ovulation date.
